A Heartwarming NICU Story: Minneapolis Newborn Photography
Meeting this sweet little one in the NICU was truly an honor. Born at 38 weeks and weighing just 4 pounds, 13 ounces, she was considered a preemie due to her size. This tiny but mighty baby girl is facing a severe congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS). After spending her first 8 days in the NICU, she was transferred to the CVICU, where she awaits a heart transplant and will eventually undergo heart surgery.
Despite these challenges, this beautiful newborn radiates strength and love. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her incredible family as they navigate this journey. It’s a privilege to document such an important chapter in their lives, and I’m constantly inspired by the resilience of NICU families.
NICU Photography in Minneapolis: Capturing Tender Moments
As a Minneapolis newborn photographer, I provide complimentary NICU photo sessions to families during their hospital stay. These sessions are designed to create tangible memories of the earliest moments of life, no matter the circumstances. Photographing this sweet baby reminded me of the importance of documenting these powerful stories, celebrating love and hope in the face of adversity.
If you or someone you know is currently in the NICU and would like a session, feel free to reach out. My goal is to bring a bit of light to families during a challenging time.
Support for NICU Families
For parents currently in the NICU, you’re not alone. There are wonderful organizations like March of Dimes that provide resources, support, and advocacy for families with premature or critically ill babies. Knowing where to turn for help can make all the difference during this journey.

Amanda - Oh wow...I cannot even imagine what this family is going through right now. As you might remember, Michele, my daughter has a very insignificant heart defect, but even that causes us so much concern. I love that the family had you come and take these pictures- even though this is a really difficult, scary time right now, they will be grateful they have them. God bless this little sweetheart and her family. I also hope you'll consider participating in The Paper Heart Project this February, as the Instagram community raises awareness and spreads love to families just like this one.
