I know we are deep into fall photo sessions but right before fall the wildflowers come out and that’s what I want to share today. Finding wildflowers can be hard and once fall approaches they die off. You can still find beautiful flowers in September in gardens but July and August is when you’ll find the wildflowers in full force and out in the wild. I love photographing the wildflowers. I’ve mentioned before that Tamarack Nature Center is one of my favorite places to photograph in the twin cities. The drawback really is how crowded it gets with photographers but I find the only real busy time is fall evenings on the weekends. When I brought my daughter this summer for the wildflowers it was just us and about 12 dear roaming. It was pretty cool to watch and be one with nature. The butterflies were out too and you can see we were trying to get one to land but he was just floating around.

Tamarack is a great location summer, fall & winter. I have not been in spring but I have photographed in all the other seasons and have taken so many beautiful images, in snow, with wildflowers, foliage. Tamarack has it all. This session with my daughter was done this summer with the wildflowers. We actually went later than I originally planned but it was still fabulous. In fact I wanted to actually take our family pictures on this day but couldn’t quite get the boys to want to participate so I just took my daughter and called it a day. We are still waiting to take our family pictures. It’s the classic cobbler’s children syndrome. haha!
