10 Holiday Ideas To Get in the Spirit

1. Santa's Workshop:

Set up a small table and decorate it with festive holiday trimmings like red and green ribbons, pinecones, etc. Have your child sit at the table and act like they're busy writing a letter to Santa or making a holiday craft.

2. Toyland:

This one is perfect if you have multiple children! Set up a few toy trains or cars around the room and let your kids "drive" them around while you snap some pictures. You can even add in some stuffed animals or dolls as passengers.

3. Winter Wonderland:

Bring the outside in by covering your floors with fake snow (you can find this at most party or craft stores). Then have your children build a snowman, make snow angels, or just play in the "snow"!

4. Holiday Pajamas:

Have your kids put on their coziest holiday pajamas and curl up on the couch with some hot cocoa and cookies. You can even make it an annual tradition to take photos in new holiday pajamas each year!

5. Gingerbread House Party:

This one is definitely more messy than the others, but it's also lots of fun! Have your kids help you decorate gingerbread houses, then take some pictures of them working hard on their creations. Be sure to have towels or wipes handy for sticky fingers afterwards.

6.Trim the Tree:

Another fun activity that doubles as decor for your home! Hang up some string or ribbon from the ceiling and let your kids help you string popcorn or berries to make homemade garland. You could also have them help you write out special messages or family names on ornament balls using permanent markers. Or, if you prefer non-perishable decorations, glue together popsicle sticks to make mini wooden trees that can be hung up on the wall or used as centerpieces on tables.

7. Holiday baking:

Get into the kitchen and bake some holiday cookies together! Take pictures of your kids mixing ingredients, rolling dough into balls, pressing cookie cutters into dough, frosting cookies, etc. These make great (and tasty!) gifts for grandparents, teachers, or anyone else special in your life.

8 .Family portrait:

A classic Christmas photo idea! Gather everyone together in front of the tree and have someone else snap a picture of you all smiling and looking at the camera. You could also do individual portraits of each child if you want to focus on them specifically. 

9. Helping Hands:

Have your kids dress up in their favorite holiday clothes and offer up their "helping hands" for fellow family members or friends in need this season. Whether it's volunteering at a soup kitchen, ringing bells for charity donations, wrapping presents for those less fortunate, or just lending a listening ear to someone who needs it—there are so many ways to help others during this time of year!

10.  Songs of the season:

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than by singing some Christmas carols? Gather everyone together to sing some of your favorite Christmas songs (or maybe even make up some new ones!). This is also a great opportunity to break out any instruments you may play and serenade those around you with some festive tunes.
