A Beautiful Newborn Photography Session in the Heart of Twin Cities
When this sweet family came to my Northeast Minneapolis studio in March 2024, it wasn’t their first time in front of my camera. I had the pleasure of photographing the mom's maternity session just a few months prior, with their adorable older daughter right by her side. Now, they were back, this time as a family of four, ready to capture the precious early moments of their newborn baby girl. This newborn session was all about love, connection, and, of course, using my well-curated studio wardrobe to help everyone feel comfortable and look amazing.
As a photographer who specializes in newborn photography in the Twin Cities, sessions like these are what I love the most—capturing a family's journey from pregnancy through to those beautiful first weeks of life with a new baby.
Studio Wardrobe: Simplifying and Elevating Your Experience
One of the most common concerns I hear from parents before a photo session is about what to wear. That’s why I provide a full studio wardrobe for moms, babies, and kids under five. For this session, Mom chose a stunning white dress from Baltic Born, and her two daughters looked equally adorable. The big sister wore a pink floral dress that complemented her mom's outfit, while the newborn was wrapped in a soft white blanket and later donned an adorable white knitted onesie.
The beauty of the studio wardrobe is its simplicity. It saves families the hassle of shopping and planning outfits while ensuring that everyone looks effortlessly coordinated. Plus, with a neutral, timeless color palette like whites, soft pinks, and floral patterns, the focus remains on the family, their expressions, and those tender moments rather than bold or distracting clothing.
A Seamless Studio Experience in the Twin Cities
When you book a newborn photography session at my Northeast Minneapolis studio, you're not just getting a photo shoot—you’re getting an experience designed to make everything as seamless as possible.
My studio is known for its natural light and minimalist setting, with both an all-white space and a section featuring lime-washed blue walls and wooden floors. The space is designed to offer a timeless, neutral backdrop that ensures the photos will look fresh and classic for years to come. For this family, the soft light flooding in through the large windows perfectly illuminated their skin tones, while the simplicity of the space allowed their love for each other to shine through in every image.
And let’s not forget about Dad! While Mom, big sister, and baby were styled from the studio wardrobe, Dad came prepared with several clothing options of his own. We took a few moments to go through the choices and found the perfect look that seamlessly coordinated with the rest of the family. It’s these little details that make all the difference in creating a cohesive and beautiful set of images.
Capturing Special Family Bonds
What made this session particularly special was that I had already photographed this family during Mom’s maternity session. Big sister was present then too, and it was heartwarming to see her transition from her role as the family’s only child to a proud big sister.
Throughout the session, she was gentle and curious, always wanting to be close to her new baby sister. These interactions provided some of the most touching moments. From big sister giving baby soft kisses to the whole family cuddled together, these are the memories that will only grow in value as time passes. Moments like these are why I love newborn photography—it’s about more than just pictures; it’s about preserving the beauty of a family’s story as it evolves.
Why You Should Consider a Newborn Photographer with a Studio Wardrobe
I’ve found that families who take advantage of the studio wardrobe tend to feel more relaxed and confident during their sessions. It’s one less thing for parents to worry about, and it allows them to focus on what truly matters—spending time with their little ones and enjoying the session.
For this session, Mom’s choice of the white Baltic Born dress created a soft, elegant look that felt timeless against the backdrop of the studio. Big sister’s pink floral dress added just the right amount of contrast without being too bold. And of course, the newborn’s white knitted onesie and wrap were the perfect choices for those classic, cozy newborn shots that every parent loves.
By offering a wardrobe that’s carefully curated and easily accessible, I aim to elevate the entire experience of newborn photography in the Twin Cities. My goal is to ensure that you not only receive beautiful, high-quality images but also feel stress-free and comfortable during the process.
Cherishing These Precious Moments
Newborn sessions are more than just photos—they're an opportunity to capture the love, connection, and joy that come with welcoming a new life into your family. This session with a newborn baby girl, her big sister, and their parents was a beautiful continuation of the story we began during Mom's maternity shoot. Watching families grow and being able to document their journey is why I love what I do.
