Motherhood sessions don't always have to be dressy. Wearing something you feel comfortable in is also important. While I do offer a studio wardrobe full of beautiful dresses to choose from and clothing for children 5 and under it's most definitely not required. Motherhood sessions are not about the wardrobe but more about you and your children together. Taking the time to be photographed with your children is a memory in the making and your children will be so thankful for it.

I know for me personally I absolutely love going through all old photographs of me and my mom together. I truly believe that the images we take of our children while they are little are for us but the images we have taken of us with our children are for them. Let me repeat that because it's important.

The images you have taken of your children are for you but the images you have taken with your children are for them.

The images you are in are the images that your children will cherish when they are older. Every year around Mother's Day and Father's Day I dig through boxes of photographs to find those images of me and my mom or me and my dad. And it's so much more fun to dig through prints that scroll through the computer which is another important aspect of these sessions. Turn those jpegs into prints. Frame them now and box them up later. Motherhood sessions are to get those heirloom images that will last a lifetime and keep your legacy alive.

Once a year I do offer a Motherhood Event in my Minneapolis Studio. These sessions are fun, fast and perfect to grab a few beautiful images of you and your children. Think of it has not only a gift for yourself but a gift for your children. You all deserve it. While the motherhood event is once a year, motherhood sessions are scheduled all year and what I love to specialize in.
