When you schedule a fall family photo session in early or even mid to late September there is a chance and it's highly likely that your photo session will feel more like a summer photo session than a fall one. When you schedule a session for October it's highly likely though that it will feel like winter. Fall feels are hard to come by it seems.

We had a beautiful day on the day of this family's photo session at Como Park. This fall was tough, the colors weren't as vibrant as in years past and either things were still green or leaves were gone. We did manage to find a little bit of all in one spot of the park, see if you can find it below.

Como park is such a great location for photos because there are so many different areas around which give your images all kinds of variety. And September at the park brings so much beautiful flowers which I feel gives it more of a summer feel than fall but it's still so lovely. With the buildings too you get a bit of an urban feel which is fun to have as well.

The one downside to Como Park is having your photo session on a Saturday. The place is FULL of weddings and then some locations are closed for the events. I highly recommend if you want Como Park as your location of choice to choose a week day. Even this session was on Tuesday I believe and there was an area closed off for wedding pictures.

In all honesty I found all photo sessions held on the weekends to be really tough with crowds of photographers vying for spots. I like to be able to offer my clients weekend spots but I really dislike having to compete with other photographers. Please consider scheduling your photo sessions on week days. It's really a better experience all around.
