Fall family photos at the barn is a favorite for so many clients. I think the red barn just screams fall, doesn't it? This barn is located in the beautiful private grounds of North Oaks, Minnesota. The great thing is if you are a resident of North Oaks you can visit at any time and lucky for me I live in the city of North Oaks so I love inviting clients over as my guests but this particular family lives here too. And I just love them! My daughter has been friends with their youngest for many years; my son swims for the same high school team as their oldest daughter and mom and I are ladies who lunch occasionally. haha! It's actually been awhile since we lunched with Covid and all but I really hope we get back to it because I LOVE lunches, it's seriously my favorite meal of the day!

In any event we met at Hill Farm for her family's fall photo session. I was so excited to see them out on-location because for a few years they always visited for the holiday mini sessions which is nice and all but I really do love when I can actually spend quality time with families on location taking pictures instead of rushing through 15 minutes of portraits during the holidays. Don't get me wrong, I love my studio but some families I really just want to spend more time with and this is one of them!

Their eldest daughter is actually a senior this year and I just cannot believe it. Where does the time go? So many of the "kids" in our neighborhood are growing up and heading off into the world and while I'm so happy to see them blossom and grow I definitely get a little nostalgic for when they were little.
