I recently had what I would call a grandmotherhood session. Last year when I announced my Motherhood Session Event I got an e-mail from a client who I last photographed for her daughter's 6 month sitter milestone asking if I'd be up to photograph her mother-in-law with all the grandkids. I thought absolutely! How fun would that be?! Except then Covid happen and right before my motherhood sessions we on lock down. I had to cancel my event which made me extremely sad but I also knew it was necessary. I offered all clients a refund on their non-refundable fee. Everyone had the option to schedule again once we opened up or receive the refund. Everyone asked for me to hold their deposit and apply it to another session. Many scheduled Motherhood sessions and even a few put it towards new sessions like newborn portraits. And this lovely family kept waiting until grandma felt safe scheduling a new session. I was happy to tell them that I as well as the family I live with had been fully vaccinated.

So we got together for a lovely grandmotherhood session. Grandma with her 7 grandchildren. Ranging in ages from 15 to 1 years old! So much fun. They were all so well behaved. Just enough spice to have fun but enough sugar to get some really beautiful images that grandma will love. It's interesting to think though that if we would have had the session when we were originally scheduled the twin cuties here wouldn't have been in the photos. So it actually worked out for the family. I mentioned to grandma just how blessed she was and she told me she's been able to help with each and everyone of her grandchildren. I think that is amazing and I'm sure she's glad to be able to see the new babies without any of the Covid restrictions.
