However, as we all know, life took an unexpected turn with the pandemic, and like so many others, this mama had to pivot her plans. Instead of focusing on a Motherhood session, she decided to switch gears and embrace a newborn session, especially after the joyous news that she was expecting another baby!

There’s something so intimate and comforting about being in your own space, surrounded by the familiar warmth of home, while simply loving on your new baby. The thought of capturing those early days of a new life, right in the heart of where your family grows together, is simply magical. I was all in favor of it, and we were both eager to make it happen.

When Life Throws Curveballs: The Challenges of Scheduling During a Pandemic

But as fate would have it, the timing was still not quite right. Just as baby’s due date was approaching, the second wave of Covid hit, and the family understandably felt it was best to reschedule. The safety and well-being of the newborn took precedence, and we decided to push the session to after the holidays. We all know how things can get hectic, especially during a pandemic, and that’s when the unexpected happened once more—middle sister broke her arm! A big, purple cast in the family photos? It just didn’t seem like the best timing, so we postponed the session yet again.

Finally, after much anticipation and several reschedules, the stars aligned, and we were able to make the session happen. By this time, baby sister was no longer a newborn, but you know what? That just added a whole new dimension to the photos. With a few extra months under her belt, baby’s personality was starting to shine through, and it was an absolute joy to capture those early smiles, curious gazes, and tiny fingers exploring the world around her. Sometimes, the best things really do come to those who wait, and this session was proof of that.

The two oldest sisters are sweet and gentle, while the adorable 2-year-old sister has a personality that lights up the room—and let’s be honest, she pretty much runs the show!
