I know I had already blogged this beautiful maternity session but I just received the film images I took as well. I don't always shoot film at my photo sessions. Honestly I usually forget but sometimes I take a few but and in this case I actually shot a full roll of Ilford Delta 3200 black and white film.
After receiving these scans back from my film lab, The Find Lab, it definitely made me feel like I should be shooting film at all my sessions all the time! There is just something so dreamy about film. If it weren't so expensive I would shoot more of it. I do actually photograph a lot of my personal images with film because I really do love it more. But it's hard for me to photograph clients on film, I'm way too worried something might go wrong and I wouldn't know it until the scans came in. Plus film loves light so I'd either to need to make sure I was photographing mid day or in extremely bright homes. I've thought a lot about shooting hybrid meaning both digital and film and while that seems perfect for me I find that I already carry too much gear and I tend to forget to use the film camera. I'll bring it to sessions and don't use it at all.
So I'll try to use it more at studio sessions like this beautiful maternity session. Mama is pregnant with twins and I cannot wait to meet them next month. Actually just a few weeks away now. If you want to take a peek at the digital images from her session that I already blogged. Be sure to check it out here: STUDIO MATERNITY SESSION
I wish I had images of me like this pregnant, every mama deserves beautiful images of herself during this brief moment in time. Nine months always seems like forever when you're anxiously awaiting baby but it really does fly by.
