Ever wonder what I'm lugging around in my big pink camera bag? I'm not going to lie my back has been hurting from toting this thing along to all my sessions this fall. I'm going to need a massage when all this is said and done! But I thought I would take a moment to share what's in it. It doesn't seem like a lot (maybe it does) but what is in it tends to weigh a lot and honestly I think the bag weighs enough on it's own. But it is my favorite bag because one the color is so me!!!! Two lots of compartments and three the quality has been amazing. I've taken this on many trips as well as my local Minneapolis photo sessions and it's held up so well, I'm probably due for a new bag but I just love this one so much. It comes from House of Flynn. I think it would have made a good diaper bag back in the day too. And no I'm not getting any kickbacks (from anything in this article) I'm just sharing something I love.
I want to mention real quick that at the end of this post I'll be linking to a wonderful photographer in California who is selling her fine art prints. Stay tuned . . . .
Ok let's get to the nitty gritty of what's inside, shall we? The above image was taken with my iPhone because I wanted to share the camera's I currently use at sessions. Though I guess I could have taken it with my old Canon 5D Mark ii because I still own that one. But needless to say my iPhone is in my bag too, but of course I don't use that to photograph sessions with. At outdoor sessions 75% of the time I'm using my Sony mirrorless a7iii with my canon 135L attached to it. This is by far my favorite combination. In layman terms it's the close-up with the blurry background that I love. And why I have to constantly back-up during my sessions. The other 25% of the time I use my Canon 5d Mark iii with my 24-70L attached. This is the lens that gives me the variety of the whole scene. And why I'm always telling you "wait wait, don't move I'm not done yet" I need to get a holster so I can easily grab one instead of walking around holding both (I actually have a double holster but I never use it because I feel dumb). And I usually keep a spare lens or two in the bag as well usually my Canon 50L or Canon 85 1.8.
In the studio though I would say 90% of the time I'm using the Sony with my Canon 50L but I always have on hand, my Sigma 35 art, Canon 100 Macro and a few others. Sometimes even in the studio I'll bring my film cameras (not shown) if I can shove them in the bag (which I normally can)
And let us not forget Froggy! The families I've been photographing for years know this little guy! He just lost his big long red tongue at a session recently but he still does his job for getting kids and pets to look at me. Most kids love him and I have even had to break it out for the teenagers too. And this year I have added the all too well known facemasks. I wear the N95 in the studio for sessions and a simple cloth one for outdoor sessions.
Of course what's not seen in the bag is my hand sanitizer, batteries, Chapstick, Altoids, flash cards, Expo Disc (which I always forget to use at on-location sessions but usually break it out at the studio (this is a White Balance tool, so my subjects aren't blue). I think that's it!
As promised I wanted to share with you a Fine Art photographer in Los Angeles, CA who now has fine art prints for sale. Head over to check her out.

Ute - That's such a beautiful bag! I have the same one, mine is made from brown leather, and I can only second what you've said, it's super versatile and has been my favorite for many years now.
