This fall was full of all kinds of family photo sessions. This family lives right here in North Oaks and we visited on of my favorite photography spots in our city, what I like to call the secret garden. It's not really much of a "garden" nor is it a secret location but it is hard to find if you don't live here. Usually every year I have a few families that choose this location over others and this year was no exception. This location worked well for this family since dad was only able to join us for 30 minutes.

My signature family sessions have no time limit but they do tend to last approximately 45 minutes. So we made sure to get all the images in the beginning with dad and then we focused on the kids when we explored just a little more. The great thing about this location is once we explore through the park and photograph near the gates we head down the trail take more pictures along the way and end up at the bridge. The bridge is usually our turn around point. When we don't turn around we can actually head a little ways down and we come up onto the private lake in North Oaks. This is a good with older kids and when a little more time is wanted during the session for variety. This usually occurs when we plan on a session at the park but come across a too buggy area in the summer. Spring, fall, & winter are great times for Mary Hill Park but it's best to stay away in the summer when it's really too buggy. Pleasant Lake isn't a far trek from this location and can be a perfect location as well though it's recommended to schedule lake session close to sunset.
