When it comes to newborn photography, the Twin Cities has no shortage of talented photographers to choose from. But how do you know who is the best for your family? And what should you expect from a newborn photography session? Today I am beyond excited to share my newest clients with you all! This twin cities newborn photography session was absolutely lovely. There was so much love and sweetness in this shoot, it was just a joy to photograph this family in my studio. Hopefully hearing their story will help you navigate the process and find the perfect photographer for your family. (Hint it might just be me)
When the initial shock wore off, new parents Jill & Jacob felt excitement and anxiety of the unknown for this new adventure! Ten months later here we are.
I asked what their first thoughts were when baby Medford finally entered the world (which happened on January 23rd, btw weighing in at 7 lbs 13 oz and 19.5 inches ) and mom just couldn't believe he came out of her body, and that he was her baby. (I remember that exact feeling myself) She also thought he was insanely cute for a newborn. And she's not lying when she says he is insanely cute, I mean look at this cuteness!!!
Mom told me that my providing everything for her newborn session was actually her favorite thing about the session. I cannot tell you how happy that makes me feel because I really do strive to make it as stress free as possible and that includes including all the wardrobe pieces. Mom, dad and baby were fully dressed from the studio wardrobe. Well dad did bring his own pants. But all this meant mom didn't have to do anything to prep for this newborn session.
And their advice now that the session is over and done with? “Prepare to nurse during the session! Try not to stress ". Which is true, most often we do have to take a break to nurse baby and I always tell moms not to worry take your time, we are in no rush and if mom wants I take that time to take some nursing photos or we just sit and chit chat. You know mom was worried she would look exhausted and that her baby would cry the entire time, and that they would not be able to get any good pictures. As you can see that is not what happened at all.
I am so excited for this family's future, and I just know that there are some very special years ahead. I will leave you with a few more images from our session before catching up next time!
