Embracing Miracles: Twin Girls Defying Odds in Minneapolis
It must be the season of twin girls here in Minneapolis! Since December I've had at least 5 sessions/session requests for TWIN GIRLS! Crazy! Anyway these beautiful blondie twin girls came early at 33 weeks. They have lots of blonde hair, weigh 5lbs and are little fighters! Due to very rare complications from TTTS and TAPS ("Twin anemia polycythemia sequence (TAPS) is a form of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) that can complicate monochorionic twin pregnancies. ... Unequal blood counts cause the twins to suffer from an imbalance in red blood cells and hemoglobin" cited from hopkinsmedicine.org) one baby had to undergo a 9 hour surgery at only 3 days old to amputate her left leg and have her intestines reconstructed. They are our truly miracle babies and did I mention beautiful!
