Wondering what to wear for your spring family photography session?  This month's style board focuses on taking your photo session outdoors (but would still look fabulous in the studio as well).  Notice mom's dress is a floral while everyone else is in solids.  Adding at least one person in a pattern is best when styling your family.  While you can do all solids (but never all patterns) it's more pleasing to the eye for one pattern and I usually recommend mom or daughter in a floral or boys in stripes. Mom's dress is on it's way to be added to the studio wardrobe and if you are interested in one of the other pieces for your session, send me a message with the size you need and I'll add it to my closet.  Again this ensemble will look beautiful in your home, in the studio or on location for a family session.  The trees will be blossoming soon, the grass will be turning green and we will be frolicking outside soon!

A note about sizing clothing pieces for children; you should consider sizing down. This is pretty important. I know you want to buy your child something they will grow into but that's not going to photograph well. It really needs to fit well to photograph well. It's another reason I offer a studio wardrobe for clients. I know you don't want to buy your kids something to wear that won't fit them for long, so that's ok I've got you covered. With plenty of neutrals in my wardrobe for kids under 5 I'm sure I have something you'll love. I even actually have sizes for older kids but ask first because I don’t have much in the bigger sizes but you never know!  If you want me to send you a picture of what I have in your child's size I'd be happy to show you. The only time we've had to size up for children is if your child is really tall for their age. It's not really an issue for boys but for girls wearing dresses sometimes the dresses are too short but a quick tip for this is dress extenders. I have one that I used to use for my daughter plus it adds a little something something to the dress. So without further adieu let's get to this April's style board. Enjoy!
