Back from Vacation and Ready to Share Some Beautiful Sessions

After being on vacation for three weeks, I’m finally back and catching up on blogging about all the incredible photo sessions I had right before I left. My Northeast Minneapolis studio was bustling with maternity sessions, and I loved every minute of it! Exciting News: A Twin Mama’s Journey

One of the most exciting sessions I had was with a radiant mama who’s expecting twin boys! Twins always bring an extra level of excitement, and knowing that I’ll get to capture their growth over the next year makes it even more special. She signed up for my baby plan, which means I’ll be photographing her babies throughout their entire first year. Watching these kiddos grow, especially during that first year when they change so rapidly, is truly one of the most rewarding parts of my job. It’s amazing how much they transform from month to month—those tiny newborn features soon give way to bright eyes, chubby cheeks, and the first hints of personality. Before you know it, they’re sitting up, crawling, and even taking those first wobbly steps. Capturing these milestones is such a privilege, and it’s one of the reasons I love what I do.

You don’t have to worry about buying a dress you might only wear once. Many of my clients choose to wear the same dress for both their maternity and newborn sessions, creating a lovely continuity in their photos. It’s always fun to do a side-by-side shot—before baby, after baby.

Choosing the Right Session: Signature vs. Petite

During her session, we styled this mama in three different dresses, each one highlighting her glow and the joy of expecting twins. Signature sessions like hers offer the flexibility to change into multiple outfits, which is great for capturing different looks and moods within the same session. These sessions typically allow time for about three dress changes, giving moms plenty of variety. On the other hand, petite sessions are perfect if you prefer to stick to one or two outfits and focus more on the connection between you and your baby bump. If you’re planning to include your spouse or other children in your maternity session and want to go on location then I highly recommend going with a signature session to ensure we have enough time to capture everyone beautifully. Petite sessions are ideal if it’s just you and your belly in the studio, offering a more intimate experience that’s all about celebrating this special time in your life.
