On this eve of thanksgiving I wanted to take a moment to talk about what I'm thankful for. Every year brings new challenges and new blessings and new ways that we open our eyes to what is in front of us.
I am so thankful for my business and the clients who have supported me through my art. It means so much to me when I receive messages and or videos of unboxings and newly installed wall galleries. This year has been my busiest yet and it's been a pure joy to see all the smiling faces in front of my camera.
I am so thankful for my family. I felt so lucky to be able to spend 3 weeks in California seeing everyone. It has been so long and it really renews the soul to spend time with family. When you live close to family I don't think you realize how lucky you are. We've lived far from family for about 14 years and it's tough. I cannot tell you how often I wish we could just have a quick dinner with family but know we have to wait years before we can. But I am thankful I get to see them at least once a year. Now if I can just convince them to come out to Minnesota once in awhile.
I am so thankful for my children. My son turned 16 this year and got his license and I cannot tell you how my anxiety has gone through the roof. But I know I need to let him go so he can spread his own wings. So I am thankful for his maturity and for the fact that it eases a bit of the driving now that he can drive himself. I am now only an uber driver for my daughter. I am thankful for my daughter's new softball coach who saw potential in her and asked her to join their team. Off season practice has already shown how much she learning and growing from. I am thankful for busy children. It keeps them out of trouble.
Finally I am thankful for my husband who supports me in my endeavors. Without his support it wouldn't be as easy to do all I do. He works hard but still has time to help with driving the kids to where they need to go. He knows I hate driving in the dark so he's always willing to do it. It's funny after you've been married for 18 years it's not the flowers or love notes so much as the things like saving the last starbucks 2x kcup for you in the morning.
This year when you are sitting around the table whether it's with two or 50 friends and family take a moment to find the joy in what you have. In a year where its been tough for so many there is still a little bit of joy that can be found.
Take care, thank you and happy thanksgiving.
