By this time most of us are all back to school. It feels good to have routine back. The kids get to see their friends and things seem to be almost back to normal.

Every year at the start of school and then again on the last day of school I take my own kids portraits. I bought these desks when we moved to Minnesota mostly for photo sessions but they’ve quickly became something my kids played school with but also something I could use to document every year they went off to school. We’ve been taking these pictures since my son was in first grade and my daughter in kindergarten. It’s a tradition so the kids now both in high school don’t even complain about it because they know we have to do them! It has been super fun to watch them grow into and out of these old fashion school desks.

So without further adieu I wanted to share our first day of school pictures. My son is now a sophomore and my daughter a freshman. I still cannot believe they are not still in elementary school. Time flies by, I know we all talk about it but seriously once your child starts school it’s over before you can blink your eyes. I’m constantly trying to slow it down but it just keeps going by faster.
