As a photographer, I always look forward to fall photo sessions. The beautiful colors of fall foliage make for breathtaking backdrops, and in Minnesota, Tamarack Nature Center in White Bear Lake is a popular venue for such sessions. Last November I had the opportunity to work with a lovely family, and despite the cold and rainy weather, we managed to capture some amazing photographs. In this blog, I will take you through our experience at Tamarack Nature Center, the outfits they wore, and the final photographs we captured.

As we reached Tamarack Nature Center, I knew we would be disappointed to see that the fall foliage was almost gone. I decided to start us among the evergreen trees, and it turned out to be a great decision. The tall trees provided a stunning green backdrop, and complemented with the family’s outfits which looked amazing in the pictures. We then made our way to the open fields, where we captured some playful shots of the two brothers running and playing.

One thing I always recommend to my clients is to wear outfits that complement the natural surroundings. In this session, the mom wore a beautiful green velvet dress from the studio wardrobe, which is available for all my clients to wear and can be found at Baltic Born. The dress is simple, and elegant, and provided a perfect complement to the green & natural surroundings. The youngest brother wore a shirt from my studio wardrobe as well, which was from Zara, and it’s neutral color fit with the colors of the fall season perfectly.

The day of our session was cold and rainy, but the family was determined to get the pictures they wanted. I always give my clients the flexibility to reschedule their sessions, but we knew we couldn’t wait much longer as we were sure snow would come to Minnesota soon. I was thrilled that the family was so adventurous and willing to work in the rain, and as we continued with the session, the rain added a unique texture to the pictures.

As we wrapped up the session, I was ecstatic about the final photographs. Despite the challenging weather, I knew I had managed to capture some amazing and unique shots. In the end the family was thrilled with the final result, and I’m sure the session had turned out better than they had hoped.

Fall is one of the best seasons for outdoor photography, and Tamarack Nature Center in White Bear Lake is a popular venue for fall photo sessions. Despite the foliage being nearly gone, we managed to capture some stunning shots at the venue. The family looked amazing in their outfits, and the rain added a unique element to the final photographs. As a photographer, I always aim to capture the natural beauty of my clients, and this session was no exception.
