This summer I had such a fun photo session with a Minneapolis family at Comp Park in St. Paul. Como Park is one of my favorite locations to photograph families at in Minnesota. In fact last summer we did a petite sibling session at the same location with these adorable kiddos. I have been photographing this family since the oldest was in the NICU.

For those who do not know, I love giving back and my favorite way is to photograph babies who end up in the NICU. Both big sister and little brother were in the NICU and I was lucky enough to photograph them there. Unfortunately with COVID I have not been able to visit the NICU or even photograph Fresh 48 sessions. I’m hoping hospitals will start allowing guests soon so these sessions can start back up.

In any event this summer photo session was so much fun. I always have fun with these kids, we run around a lot and we play games. Ring around the rosie with mommy and a new favorite of running under the blanket and lots of exploring. The kids were so good that they asked if they could go get gelato. I was like absolutely! Summer sessions tend to be later in the evening so eating dinner before your session in a must but save dessert for after. Try not to bribe your kids with it right before your photo session but definitely feel free to reward afterward.

Children change so much when they are young it’s amazing to me. I photographed this family last November too and it’s crazy how much changes. I feel so honored that this beautiful family has trusted me with photographing their children so often. I love watching them grow. Especially when I’ve met them both in the NICU. They’ve come so far!
