September is the beginning of fall family sessions.  It’s the start of busy season.  Fall is when families want to be photographed, usually the weather is still beautiful, the bugs start going away and the colors start coming out.  Who wouldn’t want to be photographed now?  For this family’s session we headed to a North Oaks treasured spot, Hill Farm.  We had lovely weather considering earlier in the day it was lousy.  You just never know in Minnesota what will happen from one moment to the next.  Now, not every session is butterflies and rainbows.  Middle sister had just got her braces on and wasn’t much for showing off.  This doesn’t bother me but there was some tension about smiling with teeth.  As a photographer it’s my job to try and get the focus off thinking about those things that we are self conscience of and capture the natural moments.  I always tell clients days before the session takes place not to get mad at kids when they don’t act the way you want them to.  This really does apply to 2 year old’s through 18.  We all have off days but if we ignore and focus on the good time for an hour we can forget and just enjoy ourselves.
