When the Plath family inquired about a newborn session in my Northeast Minneapolis studio I was actually quite surprised as we had JUST celebrated their youngest 1st birthday cake smash! But the family is so lovely that I could not wait to welcome their new baby girl into my studio.

This new addition means they now have two beautiful girls and one adorable boy. The love this family has for each other is so precious. Big sister is such a helper and I know brother will be a good big brother too. I have a soft spot for families with children close in age. It can be chaotic wrangling everyone together but it’s so worth it in the end.

It’s natural for toddlers at newborn sessions to not really be into it but we usually do what we can to make it look like they were. All you need is 2 seconds and it always works out!

As you can see from even just a quick glance through their photos, genuine connection, love, and joy are the qualities that turn beautiful family photos into the kind that take your breath away! Those sincere moments of connection are the ones families like this will treasure for decades.

But when I’m planning every newborn session whether at my studio in Minneapolis or at a client’s home my number one goal is to have everyone have fun and let the stress go.

It’s also so important to me that family photos this delightful don’t just hide away on your computer hard drive forever. I encourage all my clients to invest in displays for their images, whether that be through an heirloom album to pass around on holidays or a gallery wall full of prints.
