Older Newborn Photography Session in the Minneapolis Studio

Welcome to the mQn photography studio! In this post, I’ll be sharing an older newborn session. This is a unique session that is perfect for babies who are a little bit older (4-8 weeks old). When older newborns come in for their sessions, I like to take a baby led approach to my posing setups. I’ll do some traditional posed shots, but I also like to get some lifestyle images where the baby is interacting with mom and in this session case the grandparents were there too. For this little redheaded girl, we did a mix of both posed and lifestyle images.  It’s these little candid moments that I really strive to capture during my sessions.

I really love photographing newborns in white for two reasons. First, it looks so classic and timeless. Second, white keeps the focus on baby. I always include a few simple white onesies in my studio wardrobe for newborn photo sessions. They are the perfect outfit piece because they are comfortable for baby and easy to photograph.  I just love how crisp and clean newborns look in white!
