Milestone sessions are everything from tummy time, sitting, 6 month, standing, one year birthdays and even for older children loosing both teeth, or celebrating any birthday. But this milestone session in my Northeast Minneapolis studio was a super fun petite birthday session. With a petite session there isn’t time for a cake smash but that’s ok because I have the most adorable wooden cake that babies LOVE and we use that as a simple prop to show the birthday milestone.

This photo session focused on baby girl but we also made sure to get images of brother and of course the pair together. This is little girl has so much personality you can see it in every image. I absolutely adored her. There is one image where she is looking back sticking out her tongue and I’m not going to lie it reminded me a lot of myself. ha ha.

Both kiddos are also dressed in pieces from my studio wardrobe. I offer dresses for moms, shirts for dads & adorable pieces for children under 5. If your child is over a size 5 I will definitely help send you links on pieces to purchase for your session. Boys are easy, I usually recommend a cream henley and girls . . . well there are so many beautiful places to find dresses some of my favorite places to shop are Jamie Kay, Zara & Noralee. Little girl’s outfit here is from Jamie Kay and brother’s shirt? That is actually a piece my son had when he was 5 from a boutique called Fore Axel & Hudson, such a great place for stylish boys clothes. I miss the days of dressing my kids. ha ha.
