Sitter Session Giveaway in My New Northeast Minneapolis Studio
Exciting things have been happening around here! In honor of my new studio space in Northeast Minneapolis, I hosted a special contest to celebrate—and this adorable baby girl won a complimentary sitter session! Isn’t she just the sweetest? I can’t wait to show you all the highlights from this session, which was filled with springtime vibes and joyful moments.
My New Studio Space in Northeast Minneapolis
While my studio may have moved to a new space, it’s still located within the same building in Northeast Minneapolis—just one floor down from where it was before. The move has made things a little easier (no more hiking up those stairs!), but don’t worry, the light, energy, and warmth of my sessions remain as vibrant as ever. For those of you new to my work, I’ve been capturing memories for families for over 15 years, and this new studio has given me even more inspiration for creating timeless images.
Why I Love Sitter Sessions
One of the reasons I adore sitter sessions is the magical age they capture—typically between 6 and 9 months. At this stage, babies are just learning to sit independently, but they’re not quite mobile yet. It’s such a sweet time to photograph because you get all the cuteness without them crawling away! This window of time passes so quickly, which is why sitter sessions are one of my absolute favorites in the studio.
With their chubby cheeks, curious expressions, and big smiles, babies in this stage are just pure joy to photograph. There’s something so special about capturing their personalities as they develop before they hit that major milestone of crawling and becoming even more adventurous.
Natural Light + Film Photography: A Dream Combo
One of the things I love most about my new studio in Northeast Minneapolis is the beautiful natural light. For this session, the soft spring sunlight filtered through the large windows, creating a dreamy atmosphere for both digital and film photography. Yes, you read that right—I also shot this session on film!
There’s something undeniably special about analog film photography, and I’ve always loved incorporating it into my studio sessions when the opportunity arises. The texture and tones that film creates are truly timeless. It brings a different depth and mood to the images, making them feel even more nostalgic. I’ll be sure to share those film images soon, and I’d love to see if you can spot the difference between the digital and film shots—stay tuned!
Celebrating Spring with Sitter Sessions
This particular session took place right at the beginning of spring, so I wanted to make sure we captured that fresh, airy feeling in the photos. The baby girl’s soft pastel outfits, paired with the natural light pouring into the studio, made for a perfect combination. We embraced the season, and it shows in every image. I love working with natural tones, especially in my studio space where light plays such a critical role in creating that timeless, elegant feel.

My studio is fully equipped with a wardrobe for both babies and parents, so you don’t have to worry about what to wear!
