I had such a fabulous session over at Hill Farm in North Oaks last fall.  One of my favorite places for neighboring clients because it’s easy for us to access and since our roads are private the only people that should be using it are the North Oaks residents.  So not very popular.  Though I do think there was someone else there doing Senior photos at the time but at least we weren’t arm wrestling over spots. Which can happen at more popular areas on popular days. 

In any event one of my biggest tips to clients is to NOT BRIBE THE KIDS before a session.  You know with the “if you behave you can have a toy or an ice cream or $500 in cash”   Sound familiar?  (ok maybe not the cash part) And everyone usually does this anyway.  I’m not sure why people don’t listen to me but every session I hear the same old bribes so you all are not alone.  But this mama she told me she was going to try and go with what I said and it was going to be all about fun.  GUESS WHAT?  It WAS!!!  There were no meltdowns I can’t even remember if they were asking if they were done yet.  And at the end mom told me I was right.  What do you know?  lol  Seriously if you build the session up to your kids about it being something that is fun, that you’re excited about because of just being together without devices or whatever.  Then the session itself is the reward.  Being together is the reward.  And not only are you going to get great beautiful images but you’re going to get images of a good time spent together.  When you look back on those images you will have fond memories and not negative feelings.  This might even mean that the next time you schedule a photo session you might not hear the dreaded words “NO NOT AGAIN”!
