Another NICU session on the books. I was able to get a couple of NICU photo sessions in before leaving on vacation back in July. I have another coming up this September but unfortunately fall is so booked I’m not sure I’ll be able to fit anymore in until winter.

NICU photo sessions are complementary for those families still in the hospital. It’s my favorite way of giving back. I have met so many wonderful families and I’ve even had the honor to photograph these fighters and watching them grow. Some of my first NICU babes that I photographed are starting Kindergarten! What! How can that be? Time is just slipping away. Even the smallest of the smallest grow so fast it’s just hard to believe.

I think I saw that this little guy is finally home with his family but when I went for my visit baby boy had severe pulmonary stenosis and needed to have a balloon catheter procedure done almost right after being born. It’s amazing what these fighters and their families go through. I’m honored just to be there for a brief moment to document this time in their lives.

This little one was at University of Masonic Children’s hospital but I photograph NICU sessions all over the Minneapolis area. I’ve gone out to Maple Grove and I’ve been all around Minneapolis and St. Paul. I photograph many Fresh 48 sessions in the surrounding areas as well. It’s a joy to photograph in the NICU and Fresh 48 sessions are the sweetest as well.
