I was so excited to learn that the hospitals were letting guests in to visit families. This news meant I would be able to visit NICU families and photograph their sweet fighters again. I have missed meeting and photographing NICU babies. I am fully vaccinated so I am hoping I will continue to be able to visit in the foreseeable future.

NICU sessions are complementary to families living in the NICU. It is my pleasure to be able to document this journey in their lives. If you live in the Minneapolis area and have a NICU baby of your own or a friend who is in the NICU please be sure to pass along the information so they can get a session. Things move fast around the NICU so you do have book early especially when you’re competing with my client scheduling calendar and the remaining days of your hospital visit. NICU sessions are only held during the week between the hours of 10am and 2pm. If you are allowed visitors into your room then you are allowed to have me come in. I am considered your guest. Every hospital has different rules right now so definitely be sure to ask whoever is in charge of your baby what the specific rules are for you and your baby.

This beautiful baby was the first one I got to visit in the NICU after almost a year. She had just moved off of her cpap and was now on a nasal canula when mom requested a session. She was born via an emergency cesarean after mom developed HELLP syndrome and her body started shutting down. Baby girl was born at 28 weeks 5 days and weighed in at 2 lb 12 oz.

I recently learned that baby girl is home with her family and I’m sure getting lots and lots of love.
