I met this little Greek goddess in the NICU at the Hennepin County Medical Center. She was born born at 31 weeks and 1 day because Mom had severe pre-eclampsia weighing 3lbs 4oz and 17in long. Preemies grow quickly and even a week makes a huge difference so getting those NICU sessions in before release is so important.
This session was so special because sister was able to be there. That isn't always the case. A lot of time NICU's won't let children under 5 come visit so siblings usually won't get to see baby until it comes home. Sometimes when families are lucky siblings get 1 visit, I think we just happen to be past flu season so sister got to be there. I'm sure she was still getting anxious to bring her home.
This was a TTFP (The Tiny Footprints Project) session so I don't get to share a ton of images but I get to share enough. The Tiny Footprints Project has recently announced to participating photographers that they are falling behind and they are looking into changing the program to serve more families. You can still apply for a session though TTFP but families can also apply directly to participating approved photographers. You will find my link at the end of this blog post. Enjoy!
