I had such a beautiful maternity session in my Northeast Minneapolis studio the other day. I met this lovely mama last fall for their family photo session. They were new clients with older teens so can you imagine my surprise when I saw their maternity request come in! I was so excited to have her come into the studio and play dress-up. That’s kind of how I refer to maternity sessions. It’s like playing dress-up with the studio wardrobe I offer. It’s always so fun. And I enjoy seeing which dresses different mom’s choose. She originally didn’t love the blue toile dress on her but I thought it was so pretty and I said “well you already have it on so let’s just take a few images”. I can be so sneaky sometimes. That’s the great thing about being in the studio, taking a few images and changing dresses isn’t a big deal, we can be quick and move on to the next one. I adore the other two dresses she chose as well. I mean really she makes anything look great, don’t you think? She also did some fun casual photos at the end too which I’m always happy to include.

While the studio wardrobe I offer is the best choice for photo sessions, it’s in no way mandatory to use. I am happy to include some of my favorite bump friendly store options. BALTIC BORN, PINK BLUSH and ASOS are just a few of my favorite places to shop. The blue toile dress is from Baltic Born. I cannot remember where the other blue dress is from that she wore. And the other super cute dress she has on came from a boutique store. I try to offer different dresses that are best sellers and hard to find elsewhere. I’m always adding to my collection.
