I had a lovely in home lifestyle newborn session with this beautiful family in their Plymouth home. This mama was referred to me from one of my neighboring clients in Maple Grove. I convinced her to come into my studio in Northeast Minneapolis to do a maternity session before her newborn so that she could decide on a dress from my studio wardrobe that would work for her newborn session as well. She choose three dresses which I was to bring to the newborn session along with some pieces for their adorable two year old. But wouldn’t you know I arrived with everything BUT her dresses. I was mortified! She lives about 30+ minutes from my home which is wear I had her dresses ready to pack in my car! Thankfully my fabulous assistant came to the rescue and I didn’t have to drive there and back before their session. And when I say my assistant, I’m talking about my husband. He didn’t hesitate to come to my rescue. So while we waited for her dress to arrive I started with the sibling shots which by the way is how I usually start anyway because two year old’s last about 2 minutes. Thankfully she lasted a little bit longer and we got some amazing shots with baby brother and right when I wrapped that up the dress arrived and mom was able to get it on and we were about to move on to family photos. My crisis was averted but I’m so thankful for my client’s understanding.

They also have the cutest puppy who really wanted to be a part of the newborn session as well. I’m always happy to include pets and I absolutely love all dogs. In home photo sessions are really great because it’s easy to include the whole family especially pets. It’s convenient for clients because I come to you and it’s stress free because you just love on your baby and I photograph it.

Baby-led newborn sessions are the way to go whether at your home or in my studio, it takes the stress out of newborn sessions. It’s safe, it’s beautiful and it’s something you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
